Studying the Yukon Quest

 Our updated bulletin board.

I taught the kids how to mush. We had lead dogs, swing dogs, team dogs, wheel dogs, the musher and of course the gangline (skipping rope) to keep them all together. We then had an obstacle course race where only the mushers knew the final destination. The mushers could only use 'gee', 'haw', 'hike' and 'whoa' to navigate their teams. Lots of fun!

After the games, we talked about the race and looked at photos and videos from prior races.
 Our Ted Harrison inspired art.
We discussed serigraphs as part of our study of Ted Harrison, so we decided to silk screen some sled dogs.

The class made a "Go Normand Go!" video to send to our Yukon Quest musher
