Min, at Babyworks, sketched Evelyn for me : )

In honour of the upcoming Disney movie "Brave", Kaeli has turned into a medieval Celtic girl.  I figured out how to make bows and arrows, and Kaeli (or should I say Ceilidh) tried hard to grow dreads...too bad she couldn't convince me that she could go without baths.  Her last request is for a cloak, so that is next on my list. My cutie : )

Evelyn is thrilled to be wherever her sisters are, especially if that requires her to climb or chase them.  Evelyn has adopted the ikea chairs, climbing in and out of them for hours. She does let Kaeli or Anna use the other chair, but only as long as she gets one.

Happy Bug Day

Anna made the worms and dirt. Kaeli had requested bug day in honour of A Bug's Life.

Road trip

On my last day of work we tagged on to Ian's business trip to Edmonton.  Evelyn was so quick to get into EVERYTHING in the hotel room.  The bottle only slowed her down for a minute. Kaeli and Anna are pros at travelling and make themselves at home anywhere.  They are a little shocked here because I interupted their impromptu wedding.  I used the pools at each of the hotels to wear out the girls before we drove anywhere.  Kaeli, Anna and I had to wait for Evelyn to wake up before we could go into the West Edmonton Mall...she took forever! Again, Evelyn is exhausted, Kaeli is the princess and Anna is probably telling me about some animal pooping outside the window.  From Edmonton we went on to Jasper (here is the lake).  It was so beautiful!  There were Mule deer and Elk everywhere.  Our cabin was right by the lake.  Anna and Kaeli try to take it easy (despite the wind).  Kaeli and Anna share...

Zoo

Image
The Penguins are new to the Calgary Zoo this year.  The line up to get into the full exhibit is still an hour wait, so we will go back another weekday and try again.  besides, we have our own little penguins : ) This is not a great pic, but we have become great friends with the elephants.  This one kept coming right up to Anna.  She thought it was so neat, until it turned around and peed and pooped right in our direction...then she thought it was amazing!  The next time we went back to the zoo, the keeper let us hold an elephant molar, poop and tusk.  Pretty cool! Evelyn liked the butterfly exhibit because we let her out to roam around on her own.

Happy 1st Birthday Evelyn!

Image
Evelyn was not sure about the icing at all...it was a little bright I admit! ...so she threw all of her cake onto the floor.  "It's my party, I can make a mess if I want too." The birthday had a Ladybug theme. She could open her own presents..at least the ones she could get to before Anna opened them! Evelyn is not quite walking or standing on her own yet, but it is close.  She is certainly determined. Anna and Kaeli gave Evelyn a singing tea set that they had picked out at the store. Eventually it was all too much, and Evelyn just wanted a cuddle and to go to bed. Thank you so much for everyone who sent cards and presents and well wishes.  We are so thankful to have such a perfect little girl and a wonderful loving family.
